Raise a Glass: Ontario Craft Cider Week Comes to the Apple Pie Trail

Apple Pie Trail

From September 19-26, 2025, cideries across Ontario will be celebrating the apple harvest with exclusive cider releases, live entertainment, farm fun, and family-friendly activities. And here in the Blue Mountains, the Apple Pie Trail is right at the heart of it.

Ontario Craft Cider Week is all about showcasing cider made from 100% Ontario-grown apples, and along the Trail, you’ll find plenty of places to sip and savour. Visit Thornbury Craft, Spy Cider House & Distillery, Ardiel Cider House, and Windswept Orchard Cider, each with its own unique flavours, orchard experiences, and seasonal specials.

  • Live Music in Thornbury – Thornbury Craft will feature live performances on Saturday, September 20 (2–5 pm) and Sunday, September 21 (1–4 pm).
  • Foodie Pairings – Trail stops will be serving up cider-friendly eats, from wood-fired pizza to farm-fresh bites.
  • Farm Markets & Orchard Tours – Take home pies, jams, and other fall goodies, or join a guided orchard walk to learn how your favourite ciders come to life.
  • The Can Van Pop-Up – Keep your eyes peeled for the Drink ON Apples Can Van touring the region with games, giveaways, and cider swag.

Cider Week isn’t just for cider lovers. Many participating farms and cideries across Ontario, including some Trail favourites, offer fun for the whole family, like corn mazes, pick-your-own orchards, ziplines, and wagon rides. It’s the perfect way to spend a crisp September and/or October day in the Blue Mountains

“Harvest season is always a busy time for our producers; still, it’s inspiring to see their energy and enthusiasm as they open their orchards and share their bounty through so many events and activities,” says Janice Ruddock, Executive Director of the Ontario Craft Cider Association. “This spirit of welcome is at the heart of Craft Cider Week, and we encourage everyone to raise a glass and celebrate Ontario apples.”

With so many stops to explore, Ontario Craft Cider Week is the perfect excuse to spend a couple of days on the Apple Pie Trail. From sipping cider in the orchards to taking home a fresh-baked pie, this is the season to celebrate the best of Ontario apples in the Blue Mountains.
